The Wathen Hall is available for performances and recordings. The hall is ideally suited to the recording of solo and chamber music, but with a stage area of 135 square metres it is also large enough to accommodate a small chamber orchestra. The hall possesses two Steinway grand pianos (a model D and an AS), which are maintained regularly by Steinway & Sons. Two control rooms are available: a large room with a cable duct to the hall, which enables hirers to bring in their own recording equipment; and a small room containing a Fostex D5 DAT recorder and a Mackie 14-channel mixer, linked by 40 audio tie-lines to the hall.
