Keith Lewis: Songs by Schubert, Hahn and Berlioz
Monday 27th February 2012 at 7:30 pm
With songs by Franz Schubert, Hector Berlioz and Reynaldo Hahn, the New Zealand-born tenor, Keith Lewis, presents an enticingly varied programme of popular Lieder.
Taking the listener on a journey through some of Schubert's most admired songs with texts by Goethe - including the disturbingly dramatic 'Der Erlkönig' - to the more sunny selection of songs Berlioz titled 'Les nuits d'été', Lewis's programme promises to be one of the most enchanting concert experiences in this new season.
With an internationally acclaimed reputation for his operatic and solo performances, Lewis's recent engagements include the Lyric Opera, Chicago, Deutsche Oper, Berlin, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Glyndebourne, Paris, Zurich, and Vienna.
