Welcome to St Paul's School Music Department
St Paul's School has a lively and busy music department, holding over 60 concerts and events a year - ranging from lunchtime and informal concerts given by boys, through educational workshops involving the local community to subscription concerts and high-profile celebrity recitals.
The department runs a wide range of ensembles, from symphony orchestras, string groups, choirs (including a thriving close harmony group), saxophone ensembles, jazz groups and a host of small chamber groups tackling anything from early to contemporary music.
A new music school was built in 1999, housing over 20 fully equipped practice rooms (including specialist jazz, percussion and harpsichord rooms), a 316-seat concert hall (the Wathen Hall) and the Foyer - a second large performing and rehearsal space.
